| Royston
is situated on the Hertfordshire/Cambridgeshire border in the north-east
corner of Hertfordshire. The town is surrounded by countryside with
nearby towns including Baldock (9 miles south west), Letchworth (10
miles south west), Cambridge (12 miles north east) and Hertford (18
miles south).
Royston Museum presents the history of the town. Also worth
visiting is the unique Royston Cave which is thought to have
been used by the Knights Templar in the 13th century.
On the outskirts of town is Therfield Heath, a conservation
area and Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI), home of
the rare pulsatilla flower. Suitable for long walks and great
views of the surrounding area.
